D.C. man charged with sexual assault in U St. area

D.C. police have arrested a man in connection with an alleged sexual assault that occurred March 10 in the city’s U Street corridor.

A woman said she was assaulted by a stranger in the 2100 block of 14th Street NW, just north of V Street.

Police obtained an arrest warrant for Ezana Assefa, 22, of Northwest Washington, and arrested him at 11:45 a.m Wednesday.

Assefa has been charged with second-degree sexual abuse, police said in a statement. No further details were available.
