A D.C. man was arrested Tuesday night in the April 2009 shooting death of a 22-year-old in Southeast Washington, police said.

The suspect, James R. Wood, 21, of Southwest Washington was arrested shortly after 6:30 p.m. and charged with second-degree murder in the death of 22-year-old Richard Robinson.

Robinson, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, was found by police in the 4300 block of Wheeler Road SE shortly after midnight on April 28, 2009. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

This story has been updated to correct the date of Robinson’s death. It was in 2009, not the date that Wood was arrested.
