D.C. motorcyclist killed in Va. crash

A District man was killed Wednesday night in a motor vehicle crash in Frederick County, Va., after his motorcycle collided with a car, police said.

According to the Virginia State Police, Dmitriy Y. Medvedev, 36, was riding his motorcycle east on Route 50 when a Subaru Forester turning left from the westbound lanes pulled into his path.

Medvedev and his passenger were thrown from the motorcycle, according to police. His passenger, a 26-year-old District woman, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The Subaru’s driver, Alphonso F. Hawkins, 74, of Gore, Va., was not injured, police said. He was charged with reckless driving.
