D.C. police investigate overnight shooting of teenage boy

A teenage boy was shot early Wednesday morning in Southeast D.C.

Police said that the victim, a 16-year-old boy, was shot around 1:19 a.m. in the 200 block of 37th Street Southeast.

The teen was reportedly shot in the abdomen. He was taken to a local hospital and is expected to recover.

Police have not released any information on a possible suspect or motive in the shooting.
