D.C. police make arrest in fatal N.E. shooting

A 21-year-old D.C. man was arrested and charged in connection with a slaying in Northeast D.C. on Saturday.

Around 10 a.m. Saturday, D.C. police responded to a report of gunshots in the 300 block of 18th Place NE. Officers found Howard Harold Williams, 48, unconscious and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died.

About 12 hours later, arrested 21-year-old Lester James Wright, of Northeast D.C., and charged him with Williams’s murder.

Police did not release any other information in the case.
