D.C. police search for five teenagers in overnight shooting

D.C. police are investigating an overnight shooting that left a man seriously injured in Southeast Washington.

The shooting happened shortly after midnight on Friday in the 3100 block of Buena Vista Terrace SE, near the D.C.-Maryland border.

Police said that five suspects, believed to be teenagers, shot a man in the chest.

The suspects fled, but a sweatshirt and a gun magazine were found near the site of the shooting, police said.

The victim, who police said was in and out of consciousness, was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
