The Fairfax County courthouse was closed for the day Wednesday following a bomb threat received shortly before 9:30 a.m., the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office said.

The building in the 4100 block of Chain Bridge Road was evacuated, but no signs of any device were found after a search, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The threat came in as a call to the Fairfax County dispatch, but Sheriff’s Office said the origin of the call is still under investigation.

Information about cancellations and other changes to the courthouse schedule has been published on the county’s blog.
