Fatal stabbing in Hyattsville Thursday evening

One man was fatally stabbed and four others were injured in a fight at the University Town Center in Hyattsville Thursday evening, police said.

Hyattsville police say the fight broke out around 6:30 p.m. at the center on America Boulevard. One person pulled out a knife during the fight and stabbed another man.

The man was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police identified him as 21-year-old Leonard Raynod Smith-Matthews, who lived in the Hyattsville area.

The four other victims sustained non-life threatening injuries. Police are investigating. No one has been charged in the incident.
