Investigators also released a composite sketch of a suspect they believe may be responsible for the string of gropings that have generally targeted teens and young women.
A 40-year-old woman said she was walking along Hibbling Avenue near Exmore Street on Wednesday, Sept. 19, when she heard someone behind her, police said.
When she turned to see why he didn’t pass, the man grabbed and groped her as she struggled free, police said. The suspect then fled.
The woman described the man as Hispanic, in his 30s and about 5-foot-8. She said he had dark eyes and a neatly trimmed beard and wore a black and white bandana and black nylon pants. He also had on a blue long-sleeved shirt and black shoes.
The description is similar to that given by the victims in the other attacks. In each of those other incidents, police said the man wore a red baseball cap.
The most recent attack occurred on Tuesday, when a 15-year-old girl reported she was grabbed and fondled while walking on Hibbling Avenue near Exmore Street around 7:15 p.m., police said.
