Four charged with murder after 2010 shooting ruled homicide

Four men have been charged with murder in the case of a District man who was shot in November 2010 and died earlier this month, police said.

Melvin Pate, 29, of Northeast, was found shot in a vehicle in Capitol Heights on Nov. 22, 2010. Earlier this month, on Nov. 8, Prince George’s County Police said, Pate died of complications from the gunshot wound and his death was later ruled a homicide.

Police have since arrested four men, charging them with first- and second-degree murder and other offenses in Pate’s death: Jermaine Hailes, 22, of Southeast; Ciree Petty, 21, of Capitol Heights; Ramel Sanders, 22, of Clinton; and Mark Anderson, 22, of Waldorf.
