Four injured in early morning house fire in Montgomery County

Four people, including two firefighters, were injured Thursday after an early morning blaze swept through a home in Montgomery County, authorities said.

The fire broke out around 4 a.m. in the basement of a house in the 4700 block of Iris Street in Aspen Hill, according to Montgomery County Fire & EMS.

Authorities said two people were rescued and taken to the hospital. One victim, a man, had serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The other, a woman, was unconscious when she was transported to the hospital, authorities said.

Additionally, two firefighters are being treated for minor injuries.
