Frazier, 18, of the District, was killed last Thursday in an incident that began as a fight over music and escalated, according to court papers. Frazier’s roommate, 19-year-old Alexis Simpson, has been charged in the slaying.

At the memorial, Bowie State students shared memories, read poems and reached out to Frazier’s mother, who also attended. Frazier was an only child.

The indoor service began at 7 p.m. and was followed by a candlelight vigil outdoors on the Bowie State campus. People who attended said prayers and sang the Bowie State alma mater.

Frazier’s funeral will be held on Friday in the District.
