A Maryland man has pleaded guilty in the kidnapping death of an 11-year-old Salisbury girl whose body was found on Christmas Day 2009.

Thomas James Leggs Jr. pleaded guilty in a Cecil County courtroom Tuesday to all charges in the murder of Sarah Foxwell.

The 31-year-old Leggs was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Authorities have said Leggs, a convicted sex offender, had dated Foxwell’s aunt for a short time several months before the girl’s disappearance.

As part of the plea agreement, which spared him a possible death sentence, Leggs gave investigators additional information about the kidnapping and murder of the girl.
