Hyattsville courthouse evacuated

Update, 3:25 p.m.: Employees are being let back in the building and Rhode Island Avenue is being re-opened after bomb sniffing dogs found no threat inside the courthouse, said Sgt. Chris Purvis, a Hyattsville City police spokesman.

The Hyattsville courthouse has been evacuated while police probe a bomb threat, authorities said Thursday afternoon .

According to a post on the city of Hyattsville’s Nixle page, employees have been told to leave the District Court building in Hyattsville while the threat is probed.

The post says that residents should expect traffic delays and road closures in the area.
