Update: This case has been dismissed, according to Prince George’s County court records. Sheku Yansane was released on his own recognizance in July 2013.

A Hyattsville man was arrested Monday after allegedly assaulting and trying to rape a woman who lived in the same home.

The Prince George’s County Sheriff’s Office reported that the suspect, Sheku Yansane, and the victim both lived in a residence in the 3900 block of Meadow Trail Lane in Hyattsville.

The victim was renting a room in the home, which is owned by one of Yansane’s relatives. Her name was not released.

Yansane allegedly broke into the victim’s rented room and attempted to rape her.

Yansane was charged with attempted first-degree rape, first- and third-degree burglary, second-degree assault, and fourth degree sex offense.
