Man makes threats on bus in Virgina, police say

Virginia State Police reopened the carpool lanes on Interstate 95 in Dale City Wednesday morning after removing a passenger from a Greyhound bus who they said made threatening comments.

The lanes had been closed for about three hours after police said the man refused to get off the bus. Passengers and the driver got off safely, police said, and the man was taken into custody. Police said in a statement that officers searched the bus for suspicious packages, but found none.

Authorities said the bus continued on its way about 6 a.m. and the high occupany vehicle lanes were open about 6:30 a.m. Police have not released the man’s name; criminal charges have not yet been filed.
