Jury selection to begin in Md. trooper killing trial

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. — Jury selection is set to begin in the trial of a man accused of fatally shooting an off-duty Maryland state trooper in 2010.

Cyril Cornelius Williams of Seat Pleasant is accused of killing 24-year-old Trooper Wesley Brown, who had been working as a security guard at an Applebee’s restaurant in Forestville.

Jury selection in the case, which is being tried in Circuit Court for Prince George’s County in Upper Marlboro, begins Monday.
