Lori Love Shipe to face more charges related to Saturday crash in Prince William County

Authorities have charged a woman they say was under the influence of alcohol when she ran a red light and crashed into a turning vehicle, killing a passenger in that car, with additional offenses.

Lori Love Shipe, 52, of Warrenton, had already been charged with driving under the influence in the Saturday incident in Prince William County that killed Judith Ann Meyer, 57, of Powhatan, Va.

On Monday morning, police said Shipe has also been charged with aggravated involuntary manslaughter — DUI related and maiming by DUI.

Investigators said Shipe — who they said also goes by the name Lori Lynn Love — had been driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.

Shipe was unharmed, according to authorities, but a dog in the car Meyer was in was killed, and the driver of that car was taken to a hospital and treated for life-threatening injuries.
