Man charged with early morning Frederick stabbing

A man has been arrested for stabbing another man in the chest early Saturday morning in Frederick, police said.

Laterris Taray Plummer, 26, has been charged with first-degree and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment, Frederick police said Saturday.

Around 2:20 a.m., police came across a man lying on the sidewalk with a stab wounds to his chest and abdomen area on South Market Street. The man is being treated at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma center in Baltimore, and his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening, according to Clark Pennington, Frederick police spokesman.

The victim told officers that Plummer, or “Turbo,” was the man who stabbed him, and police found Plummer sitting in his vehicle with a knife a few blocks from where the victim lay, police said.

Plummer and the victim knew each other, and the two had an altercation before the stabbing, Pennington said.
