Man arrested in connection to explosion at Lorton deli

Police have arrested a suspect in connection with an explosion at a Lorton deli last week, authorities said.

Horace Thompson, 25, of no fixed address, was arrested by Washington Metropolitan Police Thursday after he was released from the Washington Burn Center, according to a release from Fairfax County police.

The explosion occurred at around 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 6. Police said a man had been seen running from the scene and had possibly suffered injuries from the explosion.

After an extradition hearing, Thompson will be returned to Fairfax County, where he will be charged with arson of an occupied building and aggravated wounding, according to Fairfax police.
