A man tried to force a 16-year-old girl into his car as she was walking to school in Oakton Tuesday morning, Fairfax County police said.

The girl noticed the man on the sidewalk in front of her as she made her way down Blake Lane, near the intersection of Palmer Street around 6:30 a.m., police said. The man engaged her in conversation as she approached and asked her to get in his car.

When the girl refused and started to walk away, he grabbed her and attempted to force her into his vehicle, police said. The girl was able to break free and run away, police said. She was not injured.

Police said they are looking for a man in his early to mid-20s and is 5’6” to 5’9” tall. He has a thin build, black hair, an eyebrow piercing and two piercings in his left ear.

At the time of the attempted abduction, he was wearing blue jeans and a short-sleeve shirt.

The suspect’s vehicle was described as a white, four-door, sub-compact with a “Baby on Board” sign on the driver’s side.
