Man burned in jet ski explosion on Potomac River

An unidentified man suffered burns Saturday afternoon when his jet ski exploded at Columbia Island Marina on the Potomac River, police said.

The D.C. police harbor patrol arrived about 4:30 p.m., and found an adult male whose jet ski apparently exploded when he turned it on. The man was transported to a hospital for treatment.

No details have been released on the identity of the victim. The U.S. Park Police and Arlington police are assisting in the investigation.
