Man charged in fatal shooting in Largo

Police have arrested and charged an Upper Marlboro man in connection with the fatal shooting of a 27-year-old in Largo early Tuesday morning, authorities said.

Marcus Devon Reid, 21, is charged with first-degree murder in the slaying of Ishmael Boakye, who was found fatally shot just after midnight in the 10900 block of Woodlawn Boulevard, authorities said. Police said the two men were acquaintances, and the shooting stemmed from some type of altercation between them.

It remains unclear what prompted the altercation or what the men were doing in Largo, said Cpl. Clinton Copeland, a Prince George’s County police spokesman.
