Man dead after stabbing on Barracks Row

A man was fatally stabbed on Capitol Hill’s Barracks Row early Saturday morning, and D.C. police have another man in custody.

It happened at about 2:30 a.m. in the 700 block of 8th Street SE, about two blocks from the Eastern Market Metro.

Police made an arrest near the scene shortly after the attack, they said.

Officials said they would release more information shortly.

The block where it happened has bustling nightlife, with bars and restaurants, as well as yogurt and cupcake stores. It also is the official residence of the Commandant of the Marine Corps, and a block from the Marine Barracks.
