Man fatally shot in Congress Heights identified

District police have identified a man who was shot and killed in Congress Heights on Saturday as a 26-year-old from Southeast Washington.

In a statement, D.C. police said Stevann Moorer died from multiple gunshot wounds shortly after he was shot in the 500 block of Parkland Place. The street runs parallel to Malcom X Avenue, near Martin Luther King Jr. Ave.

Police did not give a motive for the shooting, which occurred shortly after 9 p.m. Moorer died died at a local hospital.

A $25,000 reward is being offered to anyone with information leading to an arrest and conviction. Tipsters are urged to call the department at 202-727-9099 or text the department at 50411.
