Police in Howard County have charged a 20-year-old Laurel man in a fatal stabbing at a mobile home park Thursday night.

Robert Tasker, of 22 Cross Street, allegedly stabbed 46-year-old Robert L. Foster of Savage, Md. The slaying happened in the 10000 block of North Second Street about 7:15 p.m., police said.

Officers found Foster lying near the entrance of the Midway mobile home park with multiple stab wounds. He was taken to Laurel Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses said that the victim had been in an argument with another man, whom Foster reportedly knew. What began as a verbal exchange escalated into an altercation that ended in Foster’s stabbing, police said.

Witnesses identified Tasker as the suspect, and he was taken into custody.

Tasker has been charged with second-degree homicide, manslaughter, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and carrying a concealed weapon, police said.

Police said they do not know what the two men were arguing about.
