Man fatally stabbed overnight in Northeast Washington

D.C. police have made an arrest in a fatal stabbing in Northeast Washington.

Further information on the suspect was not immediately available. But authorities said the incident happened around 11 p.m. Thursday in the 500 block of 50th Place NE.

Officers responding to to that block for a report of an aggravated assault found a man who had been stabbed in the stomach, police said.

The man was reportedly unconscious when officers arrived and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim’s identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
