Man found dead after Park View shooting

District police found a man dead on the street in Park View early Sunday morning after they responded to reports of gunfire.

Police responding to a call at 3 a.m. found an unidentified man suffering from gunshot wounds at the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Park Road, NW. Emergency workers attempting to rescue the victim found no signs of life, police spokesman Paul Metcalf said.

Police are investigating a separate shooting incident that took place sometime between midnight and 2:30 a.m. Sunday in Anacostia. An unidentified man was found with gunshot wounds in the 1600 block of Butler St., SE. The victim in that case is refusing to cooperate, Metcalf said.
