Man injured in Woodbridge shooting

A man was shot Thursday morning near the dead end of Great Oaks Drive in Woodbridge, and police are looking for the shooter.

The man was shot in “the upper body area”at about 11:20 a.m., according to a news release. His injuries were not life threatening, Prince William police said.

Officer Jonathan L. Perok said police were called to the scene by a person who found the victim.

The shooter and the victim knew each other, police said, and the shooting “does not appear to be a random act.”

There is no description yet of the alleged shooter.
