Man killed in Md. fire was retired Howard professor

Montgomery County fire deparment officials on Monday identified the vitim of a Sunday house fire in Potomac as Sung Y. Kwack, 74.

Kwack lived on the 8500 block of Scarboro Court in Potomac. An autopsy into his exact cause of death is pending, according to a statement from the county’s Fire and Rescue Service.

Kwack, who was retired, had worked for 25 years as a professor of economics at Howard University, according to a university spokeswoman.
