Man killed in Monday Stafford County crash

A 70-year-old Fredericksburg man was killed in a Monday morning crash in Stafford County, police said.

The driver of a 2002 Chevrolet Corvette convertible heading east on Manning Drive near Route 1 lost control of the car at about 11:46 a.m., according to the Virginia State Police. The car ran off the road, hit a ditch and flipped over, police said.

Gregory A. Hurst, died in the crash. He was the owner of the car, police said. The driver, a 40-year-old Fredericksburg man, was taken to a hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police continue to investigate the accident.
