Man killed in Pr. George’s crash

An Upper Marlboro man was killed when his SUV crashed into a cement culvert near the Marlton golf course in Prince George’s County Monday morning, authorities said.

The incident occurred just before 9 a.m. in the 9400 block of Fairhaven Avenue, police said. They said 50-year-old Maceo Smith Jr. was killed when his Chevy Tahoe left the roadway and crashed into the culvert.

It remains unclear what caused Smith to veer off the road, police said.
