Man shot and wounded in Northeast Washington

A man was shot and wounded Thursday night in Northeast Washington, D.C. police said.

The wounded victim was found after police were called to the unit block of Florida Avenue NE just before 10 p.m., said Officer Hugh Carew, a spokesman. The man was conscious and breathing but was taken to a hospital with serious wounds.

Police were unclear where the shooting happened but were investigating the area near Florida Avenue and P Street NE late Thursday night.
