Man shot durring apparent robbery in D.C.

An adult male was shot in the back and shoulder Tuesday afternoon during what D.C. police are describing as a robbery, according to authorities.

The shooting occurred about 1:15 p.m. at 18th Street and Mississippi Ave. SE, said Officer Araz Alali, a police spokesman. He said the victim was conscious and breathing and rushed to a hospital.

Police said the assailant wore a black jacket and blue jeans. It was not immediately know if anything was taken.
