Man shot in the head in Northeast D.C.

Two people were grazed by bullets fired on a Washington street in Southeast Friday morning, and police arrested one suspect after a get-away car crashed about 12 blocks away, a department spokesman said.

Meanwhile, police identified a man who had been shot in the head in an unrelated shooting on Rhode Island Avenue Thursday night as 22-year-old Bidley Warren of Northeast D.C.

The latest shooting occurred about 11:30 a.m. in the 2200 block o f Alabama Ave, SE. Officer Araz Alali, a police spokesman, said an adult man was grazed in the back and an adult female was grazed in the arm after an argument in a parking lot.

Police said the victims gave officers a description of the car and officers spotted it a few minutes later on Alabama Ave. Alali said officers followed it until it crashed into several cars in the 2200 block of Alabama Ave., near the Congress Heights Metro stop.

Alali said one person was taken into custody and police are searching for a second person.

The earlier shooting Thursday night occurred about 10:15 p.m. in the 1000 block of Rhode Island Ave., NE. Alali said officers responding to calls for gunshots found Warren unconscious.
