Man stabbed during fight in Northwest Washington

A man was stabbed Wednesday afternoon during a fight with another person in the Chinatown/Gallery Place area of Northwest Washington, D.C. police said.

Police were called to 7th and H streets in the Penn Quarter neighborhood about 4:45 p.m. They found the man wounded, but he was conscious and breathing, said Officer Hugh Carew, a spokesman. It was unclear how serious the man’s wounds were.

Police took a male into custody at the scene. Carew said he didn’t know whether he was a juvenile or an adult.
