Man trying to dodge train in ‘game’ is hit in Rockville

A Gaithersburg man struck by a CSX train Monday night in Rockville had been drinking alcohol and playing a “game” of trying to dodge the train, Montgomery County Police said Tuesday.

The 22-year-old man is expected to survive serious injuries he suffered after attempting to cross the tracks at Randolph Road and Nebel Street at 9:16 p.m. Monday, according to police.

Police said the man and a woman, 21, also of Gaithersburg, had been drinking when they played the game. She made it in front of the oncoming train.
