A man with a shotgun barricaded himself inside a home in the Upper Marlboro area of Prince George’s County early Saturday morning, and police negotiators spent more than 10 hours trying to talk him out peacefully.
At about 12:30 p.m., the man “surrendered himself without incident,” said Cpl. Maria McKinney, a Prince George’s County police spokeswoman. No one was hurt, she said.
The man was believed to have been alone inside the home in the 11900 block of Berrybrook Terrace, McKinney said earlier. She said that when officers were first called to the home for a “family dispute” just before 2 a.m. and encountered the armed man inside, they evacuated all the other occupants — at least some of whom are believed to be family members of the man.
McKinney said at about 10:30 a.m. that police negotiators were still talking to the man. She said that it was unclear whether he lived in the home and that she could not release his name or age.
