A 36-year-old Manassas man faces a criminal charge after accidentally shooting a friend in the ankle, Fairfax County police said.

Police said Christopher E. Bohn was at a Chantilly restaurant with friends about 5:30 p.m. Saturday when he reloaded his handgun and accidentally fired. The shot struck one of his friends, a 22-year-old woman, in the ankle, police said.

Bohn was arrested and charged with willfully discharging firearms in a public place, police said. The woman was taken to a local hospital. Police said no one else was injured.
