Maryland teen charged with homicide in 14th Street hit-and-run

A 16-year-old Maryland teen has been charged with murder as the driver in a hit-and-run that left a D.C. man dead earlier this month, police said.

Christian Navarette-Rivas of Riverdale is accused of killing Miguel Angel Drullard Jr. of Northwest D.C. on Oct. 6.

Police said Navarette-Rivas fled the scene after hitting Drullard with his car in the 4400 block of 14th Street NW.

Navarette-Rivas is being charged as an adult with second-degree murder.

According to police, witnesses saw Drullard fighting with several men, then chased into the street around 3:47 p.m.

Police think Navarette-Rivas deliberately ran over Drullard as he tried to escape, officials said.

Drullard was taken to a local hospital after the accident, where he died from his injuries.
