Md. couple found dead in apparent murder-suicide

A husband and wife were found dead in their Capitol Heights area home early Tuesday morning, apparently slain in a murder-suicide, authorities said.

The couple’s niece came to their home in the 1000 block of Nyanga Avenue just after 1 a.m. and found her aunt and uncle fatally wounded inside, said Cpl. Clinton Copeland, a Prince George’s County police spokesman.

It appears the man shot his wife and then himself, Copeland said.

Copeland said investigators have “no indication what the reason was for the murder-suicide,” though they are still probing the case.

He declined to immediately identify those killed.
