FROSTBURG, Md. — Authorities in Frostburg say they hope to quickly find the person who fatally stabbed a city park duck.
The Cumberland Times-News reports that city workers found a distinctive knife protruding from the dead bird’s back Thursday morning.
The Cabela’s folding knife has a 3-inch blade etched with the logo of the National Wilde Turkey Federation.
City Administrator John Kirby says the knife is so distinctive that someone will probably know the owner.
The domesticated duck was one of four that were released at the Glendening Recreational Complex about a year ago.
City worker Dave Pennington says he had just returned the ducks to the pond Tuesday. He says they spent the winter in a pen he built for them at his home.
