Metro platform scene of possible stabbing

Two people were injured in a possible stabbing early Saturday morning during an altercation between two groups of individuals on the platform of the Shaw-Howard University Metro station.

Caroline Lukas, a Metro spokeswoman, said the fight started as a verbal altercation about 2 a.m. on the platform for Green Line trains.

Lukas said one group consisted of three females and one man, all adults, and the second included seven to ten individuals of an unknown age.

During the altercation, a man and a woman in the first group received ”minor lacerations” to their hand and back. They were taken to an area hospital, Lukas said.

Metro police continue to investigate, Lukas said.
