Metrobus passenger fatally shot in face in Southeast

A passenger riding a Metrobus overnight was killed after being shot in the face, D.C. police said.

The shooting occurred shortly after midnight Thursday in the 2100 block of Alabama Avenue SE, according to police. Officers found Demetrius Emmanuel Thompson, 22, of Southeast, lying in the street. He died at a hospital, police said.

Police closed the 2100 and 2200 blocks of Alabama Avenue for the investigation.

Investigators are looking for three suspects. Information about what led to the shooting is not yet available, police said.
