Montgomery County police identify driver killed in June 5 crash

The female driver of a car that crashed and burned in a single-vehicle accident in Dickerson on June 5 was a Russian citizen who was spending the summer in Ocean City, Montgomery County police said Wednesday.

Daria Yuryevna Soboleva, 20, was visiting the District when the 2002 Honda Civic she was driving left eastbound Dickerson Road at Mount Ephraim Road and hit a stone railroad bridge overpass, police said.

Witnesses were able to pull a surviving passenger from the car before it caught fire, trapping Soboleva who died at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
