Montgomery County police investigate 21-year-old’s death as homicide

Police have identified a 21-year-old man found dead in a White Oak apartment Friday as Jesse Patrick Campos, and they now say he was shot to death in an apparent home invasion.

Police said two intruders made their way into Campos’s apartment in the 11400 block of July Drive by accosting his roommate outside and forcing him to let them in. Once inside, police said, the suspects shot Campos and fled — leaving unharmed the roommate and another woman who was there.

A motive in the slaying, which occurred about 3:45 p.m., remains unclear. Police said they are still looking for the intruders, whom they described as two black males, one who stood between 5’10” and 6’ tall and wore dreadlocks, the other who stood between 5’6” and 5’8” tall. Both wore dark clothing, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Montgomery County Police Department’s Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070.
