Montgomery County sheriff’s car involved in Rockville crash

A Montgomery County sheriff’s office cruiser was involved in a two-car crash Thursday in Rockville, and a female officer was critically injured, authorities said.

The accident happened at Maryland Avenue and Monument Street about 5:15 p.m. and involved the sheriff’s office car and a silver Jeep, county police said.

A female officer was taken to the hospital with potentially life threatening injuries, said Capt. Oscar Garcia, a county fire department.
