Montgomery County police on Friday released surveillance video of a Jan. 17 robbery of a Gaithersburg restaurant that involved a suspect spraying the place with a fire extinguisher.

Police said that about 8:10 p.m., two men opened the front door of the El Meson restaurant, 615 S. Frederick Ave. One of them discharged the extinguisher. One of the men then dashed inside and grabbed the cash register from the counter. The two men fled the area on foot, according to police.

Detectives ask anyone with information to call 240-773-5100, 301-279-8000 or 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).
