Montgomery school bus crash sends six to hospital

A Montgomery County school bus collided with two cars in Rockville Monday morning, sending four elementary children and two adults to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, officials said.

The bus crashed with the cars at 8:30 a.m. at Great Falls Road and Maryland Avenue, according to Beth Anne Nesselt, a spokeswoman for the Montgomery County fire and rescue department.

One child suffered serious injuries, while the other children and adults were transported for evaluation and check up, Nesselt said.

Schools spokesman Dana Tofig said the students attend Ritchie Park Elementary school. He said the children who were not hospitalized were evaluated by health care professionals at the school.
