Update: Authorities identified a moped driver who was killed Thursday morning after he veered into oncoming traffic on Temple Hill Road in Temple Hills and collided with a car.

The moped driver, James Farmer, 56, of Baltimore, was headed south in the 7400 block of Temple Hill Road when he veered into northbound traffic and ran into a Chevrolet Cruze, said Cpl. Evan Baxter, a Prince George’s County police spokesman. Farmer, who was ejected from the bike, was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, Baxter said.

The driver of the Cruze stopped after the crash, and investigators do not believe speed or alcohol were factors in the crash. It remains unclear why Farmer veered into oncoming traffic, Baxter said.
